International Herald Tribune,
Thursday, December 23, 1999 reports that:
"A Korean Air 747 cargo plane crashed Wednesday after
takeoff from Stansted Airport north of London, apparently
killing all four people on board."
The aircraft apparently crashed one mile from the airport on the
edge of Hatfield Forest on open ground. The site of
the crash is 25 miles / 40 km north of London near the
town of Great Hallingbury.
In light of the design of the
conventional aircraft, the survival of any of the crew members would have been
a miracle.
